I no longer wish to be a member of the Democratic party. Jason Cable wishes to be, as the State of Pennsylvania calls it, a member of the “No affiliation” party. Most places would call this being an Independent. Because Pennsylvania has closed primaries, I will not be able to vote in our primary elections. I’m done.

Today’s Presidential Masterdebation was the final straw. Obama was an ass and McCain actually looked better. That’s coming from a life-long Democrat. Yes, both lied more than told the truth, but it’s all about image. Both of these guys are so far out of touch with “Joe 6 pack” that it ain’t funny. At least Bill Clinton knew how to talk to ordinary folk because he was an ordinary guy with a hell of a mind. He also had a libido, heaven forbid! I’d rather watch Al Gore’s Keynote slide-show 5 consecutive times than watch these two try to follow debate rules.

Senators Barack Obama and John McCain are two fools who don’t belong running this country. If you can’t directly answer a question, you should not be able to be the President of the United States. This is a basic human leadership skill that BOTH are failing over and over again. Feel free to disagree but I am frankly just tired and done with this system. Also, some PLEASE disband the Commission on Presidential Debates. Their system is flawed and the constrained debate format was a joke. Tom Brokaw had little control and the questioners could not get straight-forward answers. I do think Tom did the best job that he could in controlling the “debate.”

To back up my position, look up the word “entitlement” in the dictionary. If I pay 7.65% of my salary towards Social Security and Medicare and my employer pays the same, how do you consider it an entitlement? If you pay for something, you own it. Are they saying that I am not entitled to my own money? A legal alien can at any time withdraw their entire Social Security paid-in benefits. A citizen cannot. To me, the term “entitled” sounds like that because we are citizens we are “marked” to receive these benefits. Can’t we use a term that says that we OWN our own slice because we paid for it?

Oh, by the way, the economy tanked this week and last. What’s the solution from either one of these guys? None. I didn’t see one solid answer on the economy that had a snowball’s chance in hell of working. 4 trillion US dollars have been lost in the US stock markets in the last week. Neither one of these men could say how to get us out of this situation. It’s quite shameful.

I have one magical question for each candidate: “You said that you are against gay marriage with grants full civil and equal rights to gay and lesbian couples. Why do you hate people in the LGBT community?”

McPalin or O’Biden? You choose.

This week the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) decided to endorse Barack Obama and vilify John McCain. Neither decision is all that surprising. I will say right up front that I do not financially support the HRC. I think they do some great work, but I choose to support smaller LGBT organizations. Below are some links to the Democratic candidates, to make everything fair.

Now, I accept that Hillary is out of the race, but am not ready to throw my towel into Obama’s court yet. The Donny McClurkin incident still weighs heavily on my mind. He had a homophobic ex-gay performer at several musical rallies and the campaign knew all about McClurkin’s background before the concerts. Also, Barack Obama avoided the LGBT media like the plague during his run for Democrat Presidential Nominee. He only did his Advocate article because he was damn near forced to do so. I don’t think he cares about us as much as Hillary Clinton does. I’ve heard the official party-line rhetoric and frankly don’t believe it.

The truth of the matter is that neither Democratic contender was good for the LGBT community. Yes, I just bashed my woman! As former lawyers these jackasses should know the LGBT community MUST HAVE MARRIAGE. It is the only way to confer upon us the equal rights afforded to us by the U.S. Constitution. Civil unions would never afford the 160+ rights that come along with marriage. I used to believe that civil unions were good enough, but that’s long gone. We need to be able to have 54 hour marriages like white trash Brittany!

My gal Suze Orman asked a straight couple on her TV show a few weeks ago why they weren’t getting married. She’s smart. She knows how much marriage rights mean to us living our lives and the fact that straight people don’t always take advantage of it is disgusting. Of course, others use the institution of marriage to fool immigration, to make people think they are straight, and a multitude of other nefarious reasons. We take for granted what we are given but painfully yearn for that which others have been given.

Where does this multi-tangented rant leave me? I’ll leave you with four parting words: “write in, Mickey Mouse”.

With today’s decision by the Democratic National Committee’s Rules Committee’s decision on Michigan’s and Florida’s votes I am as some could say, quite dismayed. Howard Ickes’ comments sum up my opinion on the topic. The votes of those primary voters in Michigan were not counted toward what and whom they voted for. It was a disgusting act of democracy that should not have been. The votes of some 600,000 voters were changed to make it fair that Barack Obama gained some votes in the state. Now, I’m not kidding myself in thinking that Hillary Clinton will come out that much more ahead.

The political pundits ended the election a long time ago. What kind of democratic process do we have? The answer is that we do not have much of one at all. The mandate: reform the primary election process. Caucuses are a thing of the past and there primary election cycle must be much shorter, if not one day. With the availability if the Internet and TV, a one day primary should be absolutely possible.

While not statistically very much different in their delegate counts, it looks like Obama is going to get the nomination. I cannot and will not stand behind him at this point. I will also not stand by John McCain now. I will perform some due diligence and decide whether to vote for either. It is very well possible that I will vote for neither. I am tired of settling for a vote for President. I had all faith in Hillary. Damn.

This life-long Democrat really loves the ideas and thoughts by one of CNN’s most outspoken show hosts, Lou Dobbs, the life-long Republican turned Independent. Lou’s ideas on illegal immigration, Chinese proliferation, our failing school systems, and much more are tough, pragmatic, common-sense, and pro-American. Unfortunately, I think he’s a lousy, no good hypocrite. Tonight I watched him talking with political pundits about the weakness of the three leading Presidential candidates. I agreed. They refuse to take a hard stance on any issues which could actually make or break their campaigns. Hillary and Barack especially are both playing it safe.

Lou wants a great Independent candidate for President due to the failure of either political party to do what is right for the working American people. He also believes that we need an outspoken candidate with convictions. He’s a hypocrite because from what I can see Lou Dobbs is the best person for the job of President of the United States. He’s outspoken, strong, and takes a hard line to help protect America and ALL of it’s citizens. Go Lou! Love him or hate him, why can’t our Presidential candidates have that much spunk?

Actually, tonight’s debate on CNN was more like who was blowing who off and on. There wasn’t much of a debate. The political pundits all were saying that this would be an explosive confrontation between Senators Clinton and Obama. They were, as usual, WRONG. To me, Hillary presented herself wonderfully. It’s hard to find any barbs that she hurled at Senator Obama. It was like she was trying to run on her own record. Barack Obama was calmly nasty at several times during the debate. He certainly got ten times the digs in to her as she did to him. I don’t agree with the TV personalities that there was no cat fighting. There certainly was. Oh, did I mention that I’m watching the liberal media?

Now on to the issues… I said it before, LGBT and GLBT issues were not presented because it harms them to support a hated group of people. Yes, we’re hated. Have you seen how many states have passed anti-gay “marriage defense” acts, laws, and resolutions? I believe that more people vote against gay people in this country than vote for President. Time, time, time. It will take more time to confront our issues and eventually get more people to accept us.

Senator Clinton was certainly more substantive on the topics questioned. Obama is seen as a better “uniter”. Didn’t George Bush say that he was a “uniter and not a divider”? Hillary was also a real person. She is electable. I was afraid a while back that she was too robot like and that she wouldn’t be able to make it this far. I was wrong. She’s turned it around and is making a force to be reckoned with.

Oh, and this bullshit that Obama was against the war from the start is garbage. Hillary voted based on the best available evidence and intel at the time. Enough. It’s simply rhetoric.

Let’s get it right: we’re all wrong. This election season has shown that the prize is up for grabs and no poll or person can figure out what is going to end up happening. Cut the shit.

Thirty (30) seconds: (n., phrase) 1. a timespan marked by the count of the fundamental common measure of time, the second, thirty times. 2. half of one minute. 3. (Presidential candidate definition) time to say whatever you want to say and sling mud at other candidates and get off-topic.

Someone, please tell these candidates to shut the F up! The debates on CNN tonight were interesting to say the least. People make mistakes in voting as elected officials. This doesn’t mean that you have to attack every single mistake that ordinary people make. This debate has not changed my mind. The mudslinging between Senators Clinton and Obama is sickening. I estimate, though, that Sen. Obama started about 90% of the fights between the two.

I believe that Senator Hillary Clinton would make the best next President of the United States. I also like Senator John Edwards and think that he would also make a great President. Sen. Clinton leads among these three because I do believe she would fight more for our rights upon becoming President. It is nearly a fact that the candidates would be shooting themselves in the foot by actively campaigning for LGBT rights. The country is in no way ready for someone to fight for our rights. That person would not get elected. Argue with me. I don’t care. It’s my own belief.

As for Senator Obama, the national news outlets are saying that black voters are more likely to vote for him. I, of course, tend to think this way. Unfortunately, from what I’m hearing from alternative news outlets, the race of the candidate does NOT influence the voting. In fact, it may be a hindrance to him gaining the black vote. It almost seems counterintuitive, but it seems to be more plausible if you really think about it. The first honest thing I have heard from Sen. Obama’s mouth is when he was asked if Bill Clinton was the first “black” President.

My thoughts on Senator Obama: I don’t trust him. I think his candidacy of “change” is full of air. What Presidential candidate doesn’t want change? I don’t see much behind his flatus. He’s not as experienced with the D.C. politics which we need. We need a fighter with clear plans that can’t be shot down. Hillary can certainly do that as can John. Hillary will be tough, strong, fair, and open to a greater extent than the others. I have a strong sense of this that somehow transcends words. Hatred of Hillary is very similar. Everyone is allowed their own opinions in this country of ours.

Also, I think, of the three, that Senator Clinton will be the least likely to bring religion into the election. This is very important to me. Obama is going on about Jesus and I don’t want to hear it. Separate religion and politics. Period. Religion does NOT belong in a campaign. It does not reflect the whole of the American people.

Ok, what does a queer kid from PA know about the US election system? The answer: more than you probably do. It seems to me that all this pandering about the Iowa Caucus “results” is helping to sway voters on their way to legitimate elections, primaries. In this free democracy of ours, we’ve established that whomever wins the first few states will be the nominee for either party. It is complete and utter bullshit.

When I lived in New Jersey of all places, I heard one dear friend of mine say that her vote barely counts in the presidential primaries because it comes in late June. She was right! My solution is simple: hold all presidential primary elections on the same day… let’s say in April or May. That way, people will be forced to vote for whomever they think is the best candidate. They won’t be swayed by what people in other states think which may vary wildly. They also won’t be swayed by the media stating how wonderful it is that Obama won Iowa. I mean, c’mon! In Iowa they hold up their hands to show support for a candidate. Is that fair?

Let’s make it fair and even. Hold primary elections just like any others. There’s no reason it can’t be done. In fact, it may make the candidates work that much harder to get votes across the nation, not just focusing on the first states to vote.
