At the time I had a great chance at winning my Lemon Law case against Ford. Due to the ability of Ford to appeal any Allegheny County arbitration decisions which take about 18 mos., I decided to settle with Ford. I put that settlement money on the vehicle's loan and STILL owe too much. I am making 2 car payments. Once I can get rid of the Ford, I plan on getting something that's automatic (and used) to commute with. I have a 2002 Jeep Wrangler that I purchased a year ago off of eBay from a local physician. Resale is likely related to the price of gas. GM is closing down their major SUV plants and selling off Hummer altogether. Assuming you're looking for basic commuter transportation, have you considered a smart or a honda fit? Was it wrecked before you bought it?
