It’s easier online…

March 5th, 2008 by jason

First off, I must apologize for not getting a new podcast out last week.  I had a hellish week hope to make it up by this weekend.  Second, on Monday on a gay talk radio show (OutQ in the Morning, Sirius Satellite Radio), Larry Flick, the host brought up a great point.  It is easier to bash someone in writing online than in person.  Blogs are especially good at this.  I called in  to the show and made my confession.  I bashed the show on my podcast after they switched hosts because I didn’t like the new format which I wasn’t used to.  Of course, I probably would not have done such a thing if I was talking to the hosts in person.  I did online, though.

Look at the comments about my podcast on iTunes.  There are some very unfair, nasty comments about it.  Would those few people have told me to my face that I suck?  No.  So, before we go bashing someone, something, or some group online, maybe we should think about what we are really doing and how we are hurting people.  If you can’t say it to their face, don’t say it online.
