It’s Driving Me Nuts

There is something that’s driving me crazy. For the first time, I am telling everyone what the number one search term for this site is. Can you guess what people are searching for that brings them to me? Is it “gay information”? Is it “Jason Cable”? Is it “GLBT Issues”? NO! The number one Google search that brings strangers here is people searching to see if Suze Orman, popular personal financial consultant, is a lesbian. My 4th show, I think, was talking about how helpful she is on her weekly TV show on MSNBC. I personally don’t know if Suze likes chicks or not. From watching her for a few years now, I have gleamed the information that she is involved in a relationship that’s about 6 years long. She’s never alluded to the sex or this person, and frankly does NOT need to do so.

I personally get involved in conversations all the time on guessing if people are gay. The people who ask me could be wondering about coworkers, friends, or celebrities. While I often wonder myself about people, we can’t make it our sole goal to “out” people. When individuals are ready to reveal information about their personal lives, let alone their sexual orientation. Let’s face it, we ALL want to know if someone who might be gay is truly gay or lesbian. There is no way to know. It’s gossip, pure and simple. What do you think?

Do people question you about other's sexual orientation?
