We all have some embarrassing guilty pleasures that we are afraid to tell others about. Well, I recently found one of mine in the DVD section of Borders. I found the Match Game on DVD. Oh my! It’s one of those wonderful old game shows that ran for nine years, starting in 1973. The collection features mini commentaries by Brett Somers , former wife of Jack Klugman. This show has some of the best innuendo ever created. Since TV was heavily censored, and many believe it still is (though in other ways), there were suggestive questions posed by the emcee Gene Rayburn. The celebrity panelists had to answer these questions and match the non-celebrity contestants.
Alright, it is really odd for a guy that was still in diapers when the show went off the air to be entertained by such dated entertainment. Actually, the clothing, music, and sets are dated, but the questions remain today as thoroughly entertaining. I just love it. Do YOU?
