Hairspray, the movie did have some wonderful parts which I did forget.  Michelle Pfeiffer was a stunning addition to the cast.  Zac Efron as the character Link was hotter than hot.  He was a great casting choice.  At only 20 years of age, he will certainly have a great acting career.  Nikki Blonsky’s film debut was absolutely wonderful as the young Tracy Turnblad.  It’s amazing to see a youngster this wonderful.  These three made the film most enjoyable along with Queen Latifah as MotorMouth Maybelle.

Marc Shaiman’s music along with his partner’s lyrics are truly awesome.  The are the epitome  of modern musical theatre.  My favorite movie of his thus far is South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut.  That was another wonderful entertainment which I will not soon forget.

All in all, Hairspray was enjoyable, if not good.  The march on the streets combined with the wonderful score and lyrics helped make this movie powerful and moving.  See it.
